About
Koupir tells what is cut in Mauritius, where, and when it comes back: water, power, weather warnings, roads and floods.
An independent site
Koupir is free, with no ads and no account. It has no link with the CEB, the CWA, the Mauritius Meteorological Services or the government. When in doubt, the official notice prevails.
Official notices
Every 10 minutes, Koupir reads again:
- The planned power cuts of the CEB
- ceb.mu
- The press releases of the CWA
- cwa.govmu.org
- The warnings of the Meteorological Services
- metservice.intnet.mu
Every notice keeps the link to its source. Unplanned faults and local water cuts are not published by these sites: residents report them.
Residents’ alerts
- To be confirmed. An alert launched by a resident shows at once in its locality.
- Confirmed when a second neighbour, on another phone and another network, says the same, or when a matching official notice comes out. Notifications go out only then.
- Over at its planned time, with “it’s back”, or after 12 hours without news.
A residents’ alert never looks like an official notice. The community rules say what can be written there.
